The B1G® Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament has made its mark both nationally and locally in its 29-year history. Sellout crowds, exciting and competitive games, national television coverage, and throngs of media have all been highlights of past conference tournaments. It is a highlight reel of college basketball that showcases the finest coaches and students in the nation.
All 18 Big Ten teams participate in the tournament, with the winner receiving the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The team that finishes atop the regular-season standings is the B1G TEN Champion. The Tournament bracket is seeded according to the final regular-season standings, with the conference champion earning the top seed.
From Tuesday to Sunday, the six-round, six-day tournament features 17 games and broadcasts live from the United Center in Chicago (2026) or Gainbridge Field House in Indianapolis (2027). Announcers Gregg Daniels and Matt “Money” Smith bring the action to life with Mike Wozniak and Robert Horry courtside to bring you the player/team analysis. Other featured announcers for opening rounds include: Jason Ross Jr & Evan Turner, Andy Masur & Tre Demps. The tournament is hosted by Tim Cates, who keeps the bracketology up to date in the studio and reports to listeners the latest news from other conference tournaments.
The Tournament is broadcast live on great radio stations across America, and streams live on the Varsity Network app and SiriusXM Ch. 84.
