Mike Morgan

NFL Play-by-Play Announcer

Mike is currently serving as a play-by-by announcer for ESPN and the SEC Network calling college football, basketball, and college baseball. Prior to joining ESPN full time, Mike handled the play-by-play for various networks including ESPN, ESPNU, Fox Sports Net, and FS1 calling SEC, ACC, Big 12, Pac-12 Football, Basketball, and Baseball.

The longtime radio talk-show host can also be heard on SIRIUSXM 84 on 374 as a host talking football, and calls select football games on radio.

After spending 10 years working in the Carolinas calling Gamecock games on radio, Morgan moved to Atlanta to become a member of the Atlanta Braves Radio and TV networks. Morgan called select games for the Braves on radio while also serving as the pre+postgame show host. He also called the television play-by-play for Braves spring training games, and was the television voice of the Gwinnett Braves.

Morgan served as the television play-by-play voice of the NFL’s Carolina Panthers for 5 years from 2009-2013, calling all the preseason games for Raycom Television shown on affiliatesthroughout the Carolinas, Tennessee, and Virginia. In addition to his play-by-play duties, Morgan served as a talk show host for 790 The Zone in Atlanta and can still be heard occasionally on 680 The Fan.

Prior to joining the Braves and ESPN, Mike called South Carolina Gamecock football, basketball, and baseball on radio and television for ten years. As the youngest announcer in the SEC, he won 5 NSSA Sportscaster of the Year awards. While in South Carolina, Morgan hosted the #1 rated afternoon drive radio show for 10 years, and also called NBA games on radio.

Morgan also has called college football games nationally for multiple networks, announcing everything from regular season games to the Gator Bowl, Peach Bowl, two Outback Bowls and two Las Vegas Bowls as well as NFL games.

After graduating from the University of Florida, Mike quickly became the voice of the Columbus Red Stixx, a Cleveland Indians affiliate, for two seasons.

In addition to his TV duties, Mike has served as a radio sports-talk show host in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina over the last 16 years.

Mike currently resides in Atlanta with his fiancé Summer.
