Troy Clardy
Play-by-Play Analyst for College FootballÂ
A versatile announcer and a sports radio veteran, Troy Clardy returns for his third season as an NFL & college football play-by-play announcer for Compass Media Networks in 2026.
Clardy can be seen on ESPN, where his play-by-play work includes college football, college basketball, and Little League World Series tournaments. He can also be heard handling college football play-by-play on ESPN Radio and Westwood One. Clardy is also heading into his fourth season as the radio play-by-play voice of Stanford men’s basketball, and spent three years in that role for Stanford football.
Clardy called TV play-by-play for ten different sports for the Pac-12 Network, from football and basketball to wrestling and rugby. That mark gave him the record for most different sports called by a single announcer on the Pac-12 Network. He was also the sideline reporter for the Stanford football radio network at the 2016 Rose Bowl, and worked as the primary radio pregame & postgame host for the Oakland A’s.
Over 17 years in sports radio, Clardy hosted daily sports talk shows in San Francisco, Pittsburgh, and on SiriusXM. He also helped launch Sportsradio 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh as its Executive Producer. A Stanford graduate, Clardy lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife (Kelly) and their two cats (Fred & Samantha). Whenever he hits the road, he is always on the lookout for the best breakfast spot in town.
